Coffee Cup Sleeves

Due to its endless uses, packaging deserves to be a broader term. It includes void-filler, customer design, product support, and many other forms and types. The presence of so many packaging applications sometimes makes it easy to forget about a few ones. For instance, you may tend to forget coffee cup sleeves, even though they have become an integral part of the hot coffee packaging.

Coffee cup sleeves are literally the vessels that are used for cups to protect hands. In the past, these vessels were made of metals, wood, and horns of animals. These materials are not in fashion now a day due to corrugated or cardboard materials taking over.

Coffee cup sleeves are made of single-face corrugate with no liner on the inside. This simple structure makes these sleeves less expensive. The exposed flutes of the corrugated cardboard allow for the passage of air between the cup’s surface and the sleeve. It avoids intense heat from burning your hands. In this article, we will discuss some examples of coffee cup sleeves.

Tim Hortons Coffee Cup Sleeves

The eye-catching design of Tim Horton’s coffee cup is recognizable for most people who drink coffee. The color combination of bold red in the cup and chocolate brown in the lid makes the overall packaging an attraction for new and old customers. An additional coffee cup sleeve with Tim Hortons in red font is so striking.

Tim used double cups for serving hot drinks for a long time until they realized its impact on costs and the environment. Then, they started using printed coffee cup sleeves for their coffee, tea, and other hot beverages.

The Kraft coffee cup sleeve is a beautiful addition to the overall design of the coffee packaging. While this design retains the simplicity, it’s an equally powerful expression of design and branding.

Dunkin Donuts Coffee Cup Sleeves

The coffee cup design from Dunkin Donuts is yet another example of how simplicity can be a more powerful marketing tool. It seems that the company knew how to use different shades of brown to make a statement. These brown shades convey the feeling of warmth and comfort. Dunkin’s have made it just a cup of coffee instead of a moving billboard. The coffee cup sleeves they use complement the design very well.

That is not to say that Dunkin’s chooses to remain simplistic with its coffee cup designs. The company knows well how and when to use different colors and shades to amuse their customers in the best way possible.

Starbucks Coffee Cup Sleeves

Starbucks ' coffee packaging is a true representation of customization. Whether you are choosing dairy milk coffee, whipped cream coffee, or a caramel drizzle alternate, you will get your preferred beverage in the packaging that represents your choice.

In the picture above, you can see a white cup featuring a cardboard coffee cup sleeve with a green print of the company’s logo. The use of contrasting colors in packaging is always trickier than you may think, but Starbuck seems to have cracked the code.
